Hi, my name is Bec McLean and I would love to share a little bit about myself. I am a STOTT PILATESĀ© Certified Instructor. I specialise in Matwork and Reformer, Pre and Postnatal Rehabilitation and Golf Conditioning.
I have always had a love for movement and was lucky enough to grow up in Australia with the opportunity to try any and every sport I could! My love of health and fitness continued throughout my life, even while working as an accountant and it eventually led me to the UAE where I co-founded a gym and fitness business. Whilst working more behind the scenes from a business perspective, I realised that I wanted to change my path in life and become a fitness instructor, so that I could share my love of movement.
Pilates became a part of my regular routine when I had my daughter and for the first time in my life, I wasn’t waking up sore from my exercise practices. I had suffered with neck and back pain for years due to poor posture, which also affected my sleep and I was thrilled when Pilates quickly began to make changes to my body. After six months of practice I had made drastic changes to my body and felt fantastic because I could move, walk, run and sleep without pain. My ability to breathe effectively was also far superior. I knew that I was going to be a Pilates Instructor for the rest of my life because never had I experienced a movement practice so powerful!
I was lucky enough to train with some of the best in the industry in Dubai and quickly built a wonderful Pilates business in Abu Dhabi. In 2020, we relocated to the UK and like everyone, repeated lockdowns and social distancing changed the way we will live, forever. I was reluctant to take my Pilates work online, because it can be such a personal and intimate relationship between an instructor and client. However, I didn’t want lockdowns and social distancing to stop me from being able to share my love of Pilates and help bring the practice into other people’s lives. My online Pilates Subscription Service was a way for me to share my ideas and programs with everyone around the world – providing you with both workouts and information guides so that if you had never taken a Pilates class and didn’t have the ability to see an instructor face-to-face, you could still build your practice safely.
My other love is Postnatal rehabilitation and I believe that Pilates is one of the best ways to return to exercise safely after giving birth. It is so important to work with good posture and alignment when rebuilding your postnatal body but to also practice exercises that are functional and safe. I am so excited to share my Postnatal Program with you as well.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read through this and learn a little more about me. I hope you can join me so I can build a love of Pilates and functional movement patterns for you and your life.
